Volunteer Information
The Summit Historical Society could not exist without the help and loyalty of its volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people, work with the public, and make a difference in our community.
Are you interested in Colorado history? Are you interested in reading adventure trips. historic sites, photographs, old tools, Native American history, mining, railroads, skiing history, collections, art, old books, Victorian antiques, interesting family histories? If so, we could use your knowledge and skills as volunteer.
We have opportunities for you to:
- Guide tours, hikes and adventure outings
- Participate in the Book and Adventure Club
- Help with the restoration and preservation of historic sites
- Become an archivist – research, restore, catalog and preserve artifacts
- Organize and help at fundraising events
- Work with other organizations and the towns in Summit County
- Write articles and help publish a quarterly newsletter.
- Help with organization, administrative duties and memberships
- Become a board member or commissioner and take leadership responsibility
The possibilities are endless and require your imagination, dedication and time. You may put in as many hours as you have time.
